‘102 Not Out’ has played well on the Bollywood Pitch

Just like any other Bollywood film, 102 Not Out is based on the importance of relationships. But this flick is on screens in a quite unusual way. This light-hearted film, starring the legends Amitabh Bachchan (as Dattatray Vakharia) and Rishi Kapoor (as Dattatray’s son Babulal), is directed by Umesh Shukla which is based on Saumya Joshi’s Gujarati play of the same name.

102 Not Out is the story of a 102-year-old father (Dattatraya Vakharia) who lives a zealous life, and his 75-year-old son (Babulal) characterized as a grumpy old man. It starts with one fine day when Dattatray decides to send his old son to an old-age home as he feels that Babulal is a boring man who doesn’t know how to live a happy last life. This 102-year-old man also assumes that Babulal’s lifeless expressions will hinder his wish & efforts to break the world record of the longest living human. But Babulal not agreeing with his decision tries to convince his father to not to send him elsewhere for which he has to fulfill his father’s list of conditions. This flick hits the hearts of many when Babulal hilariously tries to tick mark his father’s terms while the story making the audience realize the beauty of life till the last breath. One of the budding talented actors Jimit Trivedi who splendidly performed as Dhiru-a boy working in the neighborhood chemist shop befriends with these 2 old Vakharias and becomes the cherry on the cake in the film.

With this excellent combination of the three characters, this story perfectly depicts an old but factual saying that ‘age is just a number’, watching which shall uplift the life in all of us.
