Mumbai based production house Dancing Shiva has forayed into the web space, have released country’s first transgender series called ‘Still About Section 377’ on their YouTube channel. The first episode is live on their channel today and all 9 episodes will be available for viewing on OTT platform- SonyLiv (App) on 11th September 2018.
‘Still About Section 377’ is the second season of the popular and much talked about web series ‘All About Section 377’. The story of ‘Still About Section 377’ focuses on acceptance, it’s a journey of an Urban gay couple who land up in the village in order to convince the family of one of the partners to accept the same gender relationship. It also highlights the myths people have about the LGBT community and the story hence focuses on breaking those myths as well as educate masses on how one should not be judgmental.
The web series stars Amit Khanna, Gulshan Nain, Ankita Bhatia, Gunjan Malhotra, and Yash Yogi as the main protagonists and is directed by Amit Khanna. The dialogues are written by Niranjan Iyenger, along with Amit Khanna.
Anuya Chauhan Kudecha, Founder of Dancing Shiva Productions said, “When Amit Khanna first came to us with the script, we loved his writing and since we truly believed in the concept, we wanted to go ahead with it. Still About Section 377 is about acceptance, and portrays the emotional aspects of a Gay couple. All the 9 episodes of the season will be available on SonyLiv and the 1st episode is out on Dancing Shiva’s Youtube channel. We are very sure that especially after the epic ruling by the Supreme court on scrapping Section 377, the general interest on the topic amongst masses has risen and people would be open to viewing such kind of content.”
One of the prominent features of ‘Still About Section 377’ is a never seen before transgender track, where the tale dwells into the life of a transgender based in a village who fights the prejudice of society and yearns to make a living. Still About Section 377 is presented by SP Cinecorp and Asmiy Entertainment and produced by Mumbai based content driven production house Dancing Shiva and Phillum Makers.
